There are a multitude of products available to manage devices that support the SNMP protocol. The Attention! Alarm Manager Software Serial Agent receives ascii data output by devices that communicate status using serial communication ports, and forwards that data to the Attention! AM Server for processing. The Serial Agent serves as the link between legacy hardware and Attention! AM alarm management, providing you with the same alarm configuration, monitoring and reporting capabilities inherent in the newest, SNMP-enabled devices.

It doesn't matter if ascii data originates at a telecommunications switch, a nurse call station or a power distribution unit. Attention!
