In large network environments, occasional events occur that cause SPECTRUM alarms to fire, then immediately clear. These wink events do not represent a real problem, and must be filtered to prevent unnecessary notification of network management personnel. ASAM’s alarm aging algorithms suppress notification for events that occur outside acceptable alarm duration thresholds.
