Attention! RT is a notification subscription application that serves a variety of purposes. In most organizations, it will be the central distribution point for time-critical alarms such as security threats, weather emergencies and system failures. But Attention! RT can also distribute informational messages, such as nice to know notifications concerning everything from schedule changes to lunch menu specials.

Such a wide variety of communications requires a system that can prioritize messages submitted for transmission at the same time. You don't want a high-priority notification to be slowed down by those of a less critical nature.

For this reason, Attention! RT allows administrators to select the importance of the message when publishing to a Subject. Messages published as Urgent will be promoted to the front of the queue, making certain they take priority over those of a lower severity.
